How long should I try to get pregnant?

Despite what we’re told about unprotected sex, it can take longer than you’d expect for a perfectly healthy couple to conceive.

After a certain amount of time, it’s worth booking in to see a doctor to check that everything is working as it should:

  • If you’re 35 or younger and have been actively trying for a baby for a year without conceiving, make an appointment.
  • If you’re 35 or over and have been actively trying for a baby for 6 months without conceiving, make an appointment.
